Sunflower Mini Sessions at Meadowbrooke Gourds: October 4&6

Hello Everyone! I am announcing a special first time event for this coming fall. I will be doing a few mini sessions amongst the beautiful sunflower fields at Meadowbrooke Gourds! It is a wonderful place for photographs and I have arranged for access to the sunflowers for two evenings only to make use of that magical evening light.

If you’d like to book session, please use the contact form on my website for your first and second choice for a day and time. If that day/time is already filled, I will let you know. The sessions will run between 4-6 pm on Friday October 4th and Sunday October 6th. The details are as follows.

Five sessions each evening: 4, 4:30, 5, 5:30, and 6 pm.

They are 20 minutes, one outfit only please, and the cost is 125.00. You will receive between 25-30 final edited photographs via digital download that come with a print release approximately 1-2 weeks following your session.

Due to the nature of mini sessions, it is very important to be on time and ready to go when your session begins. This allows each person/family to have their full time in front of the camera. There is also a 50.00 deposit to hold your spot and the balance is due on the day of your session. I will send directions of how to get to the farm, where we will meet that day, and how to pay the deposit if you want to schedule a time.

Please email me with any questions @

Looking forward to this!

Ashley & Elliott & Colt: Family Portraits, Little Buffalo State Park, PA

I have know these wonderful people for awhile now and it is always such a pleasure to get the opportunity to spend time with them. We had a lovely day to photograph up at Little Buffalo State Park, one of our favorites in beautiful Perry County. Colt is such a wonderfully easy and fun little boy, I can’t wait to watch him grow up :)

Good People, Good Food: L.E.A.F. Carlisle, PA

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love food. Not just the eating part mind you, but also the growing and cooking and particularly the community of folks dedicated to raising good food for the family table. Growing up, my parents had a very large garden and we canned and froze vegetables for the winter. We all helped, the four of us, and extended family as well, in the form of my two aunts. It was a small community effort and even though I didn't know it then, it taught me a lot. There is an inherent pleasure in cooking for people, as well as giving away all those too many tomatoes and zucchini in the summer months. There is joy now in asking my daughter to go out and pick me some basil or thyme from our little backyard garden or when she comes in with a fresh carrot to eat, which she does as soon as they are ready. And so, it is not a very far stretch for me to be enamored with those who dedicate all their time and effort into the growing or making good food, and particularly when it touches those young folks who wouldn't necessarily get the chance to do just that. And here is where L.E.A.F. steps in.

L.E.A.F. is the brain and heart child of Heidi and Shane, two of the most loveliest people you will ever want to meet and instead of me trying awkwardly to explain the beauty of what they created, I will instead quote the mission statement right from their homepage.

"Connecting youth to the food they eat, the land on which it grows, and to each other. Cultivating young leaders through the meaningful work of building a healthy local food system. Inspiring youth to create personal and social change."

L.E.A.F. is a singular unique program that I hope someday, will be the model for those like it across our beautiful country. Please visit their site to learn about the awesome people and work that they do.

In the galleries below are the amazing local farmers and food artisans that work with L.E.A.F. and each other!

Christina and Joe: Cameron Estate Inn, Mt. Joy PA

This beautiful September wedding took place at the eloquent Cameron Estate Inn located in Mt. Joy PA.  When I met up with Christina and Joe to do their engagement photos last fall, I knew their wedding was going to be an enormous amount of fun, which is was, but I also realized how very excellent they were to photograph. It is also such a joy when I get to make pictures of folks who love each other and have a good time in the others company,  which is exactly what these two lovely people are all about.

Thanks to you both for having me do the photography :) It was an absolute pleasure!

Cody & Josh's Wedding: Carlisle Ribbon Mill, Carlisle, PA

I knew when I met these two most excellent people that their wedding was going to be a super fun event! And of course, it was! We stared off early at the 5th Avenue Salon before going back the The Ribbon Mill to get ready and from there, it was a fun, laid back day with a very sweet and humorous ceremony and a very dance-worthy evening! I wish you long and happy life together, Cody and Josh!

Aly and Dustin: Engagement Pictures, Little Buffalo State Park

I met Aly and Dustin at the Pub to talk about their wedding about a month ago and we decided to have some fun up at Little Buffalo State park for their engagement pictures. We stopped at the high school to do a few sports inspired photos due to their love of all things football…and basketball…and well…sports in general :) As native Perry Countians, they wanted to do the engagement photos in a place they love and grew up in. They are so much fun and we had a blast! It’s always a pleasure to photograph two beautiful people in beautiful surroundings, but I also find that it’s always nice when there is a personal connection that a couple has to a particular place. I too, spent a lot of time hiking and camping in the woods of Perry County when I was a kid and it was a pleasure to spend time with people who also love those woods and countryside as I do.
